thirst

thirst

there's no moon, no stars
clouds invade such sultry nights
prayer is a light

crickets sing softly
metronomes of time are heard
street lights glow in heat

parched lives stare upward
flickered dreams do fade
somewhere it's raining

One Single Impression

Thinking

Thinking haiku-1
wonder has it all
blues and hues hide in shadows
reach inside the light

inside thought, lives all
ponder the ultimate gift
one mind is enough

answers await sight
difference divides the lost
don't ever give up

Dropped

dropped_maple_worm_poop translucent thread
carries them down to the ground
maple trees dying

nasty green worm poop
sounds like rain falling at night
bizarre sound, but true

seven years now plus
how long can the trees hold out
laced eaten leaves hang

to sail down in Fall
amongst the brightest of all
those which they once were

Thanks to gautami tripathy of Rooted for this week’s OSI prompt of “Dropped”.
